Imperative Form

IMPERATIVO

_ NÃO É UMA FORMA USADA SOMENTE PARA “DAR ORDENS”. NÓS TAMBÉM PODEMOS USÁ-LO PARA:

_ OFERECER ALGO: Have another sandwich!

_ INDICAR DIREÇÃO: Turn on the right!

_ PROIBIR: Don’t smoke here!

_ ADVERTIR: Look! The bus is coming!


OBSERVAÇÕES IMPORTANTES:

1. Formamos o imperativo iniciando a frase pelo verbo:

_ Read the book!


2. A forma negativa do imperativo é iniciada por “Don’t” :

_ Don’t speak aloud!


3. Para expressar uma ordem / comando / pedido que incluam também o falante
usamos “Let’s” :

_ Let’s study English!

4. Para suavizar o “comando” usamos “Please” no começo ou no final da frase:

_ Please close the door!

_ Close the door, please!
